This term we are studying Paul’s letter to the Ephesians in the New Testament – “God’s New Community”.
Our world talks a lot about community, but increasingly we find ourselves living life in atomised bubbles mixing only with those who are exactly like us. We no longer know our neighbours. Crammed in with hundreds of others on the tube, we keep our headphones on and stare at our phones. The rhetoric of politics is more and more divisive.
The book of Ephesians gives us God’s vision of a world no longer divided but united in diversity under one head, Jesus Christ. The local church is at the centre of this plan, a scale model of what will one day be true for the entire universe. Where do we fit? This is what we will discover through our sermons this term.
