made by god – body and soul
Grow North | North London Women’s Convention
Saturday 5th October, St John’s Downshire Hill
10am-3.45pm (Doors open at 9.30am for coffee and pastries)
Ros Clarke, author of Human and Forty Women will be speaking on what it means to be a woman made by God.
There will be three sessions throughout the day, looking at what it means to be created by God in His image – and created to be women, with both bodies and souls. We will consider how this impacts our identities and links to the gospel. We will also be looking at the particular challenges to holiness faced by women to whom God has given changing (and often unpredictable) hormones, and how we can honour God in all the different phases of life. There will also be time for sung worship, hearing testimonies, discussion, chat and, of course, coffee.
Dr Ros Clarke has been following Christ for over 30 years. She has studied physics and theology, and was, in the distant past, a maths teacher in Kent. She has also worked for Tyndale House in Cambridge and Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, and is currently the Associate Director of Church Society. She is also, among other things, a Course Leader of the Priscilla Programme, an online theological training course for women.
In her spare time, Ros enjoys art, especially textiles, and is a sporadic gardener. She lives in a tiny house near Stafford, converted from a sixteenth-century sheep shed, and she is very glad that it has twenty-first century plumbing. Ros is also the owner of The Best Dog in the World.
