Help needed on day-to-day finance issues: part-time paid role available, starting ASAP As Roger Staton moves on from his voluntary role in the office with day-to-day finance issues, we are now creating a formal paid office-based role to cover both day-to-day finance and other occasional admin as needed. This would be for 10-12 hours per week, which could be worked flexibly across the week according to availability. Full training will be provided.
If you are interested in applying for this role, or know someone who might be, please email Tom for a full role description and application form. The closing date for applications is Monday 17th September and interviews will take place in that week.
Wednesday Central and Home Groups Please note that Wednesday Central will restart on Wednesday 19th September at 7:30pm for food, with Bible studies from 8pm. This Wednesday 12th September in the undercroft we have training for all Small Group Leaders (including leaders of groups meeting in homes), again with food at 7:30pm and starting at 8pm.
Over the next few weeks we will be sending out info about reshuffling all small groups so that new groups can start at the beginning of November, after school half-term. These will continue to meet in both homes and centrally. If you are not currently part of a small group, do join Wednesday Central until then. More info soon!
Women’s Prayer Meeting Monday 17th September 9:30-11am All women are invited to come to pray in the undercroft on Mon 17th Sept from 9:30am, even if you are not regularly able to join one of the midweek women’s groups.
London Women’s Convention 2018 (9:30am to 2:30pm, Saturday 13th October) To a damaged and decaying world Christ offers the resurrection hope of new birth and an inheritance that will never fade, spoil or die. Clare Heath-Whyte will be speaking on the first chapter of 1 Peter and helping us discover more about this glorious hope and how we can and should live in the light of it.
We are hoping to take a group of women from St John’s to this year’s Convention. We have booked tickets for the ‘Daylight’ session at a cost of £25 per ticket. Please email or speak to Kerry if you are interested in coming along.
Teaching help needed with English Language Classes (10:00-11:30am, Tuesdays from 18th September) We’re looking for someone who would be willing and able to join the ESL team to help with teaching English to internationals on Tuesday mornings in term time. This would involve sitting alongside group members learning English and helping them with their work. Please speak to Gussie Staton or email [email protected] for more information.
Sign up for the St John’s podcast here So you can listen to all our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason.
