Daylight Saving Time (Sunday, 31st March 2018, at 1:00am) Daylight saving time begins this Sunday at 1:00am so don’t forget to put your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night (or Sunday morning if you’re an owl rather than a lark)! Don’t be that family that turns up just as the service is coming to an end as we will mock you!
Mothering Sunday (10:30am, 31st March) Instead of the usual distribution of flowers at this week’s morning service, we would like everyone – male, female, child, or adult – to bring a single flower with them to church as a sign of thankfulness for their own mother. These flowers will then be used to decorate the church.
Prayer Dinner (7:30pm, Wednesday 3rd April) We will gather to pray this Wednesday evening, with dinner served from 7:30pm and prayer from 8:00pm – join us to pray about our Easter events and services. If you consider yourself a member of the church, please do make this a priority.
Passover Seder (6:00pm, Sunday 14th April) On Palm Sunday, 14th April, instead of the usual evening service, St John’s will be hosting a Passover Seder showing the link between Jewish tradition and Christ’s Last Passover meal, which will be led by Stephen and Deborah Pacht. All are welcome to come along – please be thinking and praying about friends you might want to invite (please let the Office know if you’re bringing any guests).
Please let Kerry know if you can help at all with setting up, serving, or clearing up on the day.
Easter Holiday Club 2019 (9:30am to 12:30pm, Monday 15th to Thursday 18th April) Is for all primary school aged children from Reception to Year 6. Please note the following:
1) Register: reserve your child’s free place online NOW! (Places are filling up quickly so please don’t leave it to the last minute.)
2) Help: please let David Rue know if you are able to help in any way – you don’t have to commit to the full week, if you can do one or two days that would also be great.
3) Collect: please collect large clear/light coloured plastic bottles e.g. large soft drink/water bottles or milk cartons (1.5 litre and larger) – there will be a box at the back of church where you can leave them. We need 100+…
Book Recommendations! The St John’s online bookstall at 10ofthose.com has been updated. If you have started the New Testament reading scheme, you may find it helpful to have alongside you a copy of “The Message of the New Testament” by Mark Dever, which has a sermon-length summary of each book. You’ll find this and a number of other recommended books at https://www.10ofthose.com/uk/partners/sjdh or via the 10ofthose icon on our website.

You can download any of our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason. Or just listen direct from our website.
