A bible-believing Anglican church in Hampstead, NW3

This week’s notices (29th March 2018)

Notices for this week
(29th March 2018)

Good Friday Meditation (10:30am, Friday, 30th March)
Do join us for our Good Friday service tomorrow.  This will be a meditative service as we reflect on the Passion narrative of John’s gospel.  Please note that we will start promptly at 10:30am and that there will be children’s activities downstairs from the start of the service.

Easter Sunday (10:30am, Sunday 1st April)
Our service this Sunday will be an All Age celebration of Jesus’ resurrection for us and will include Communion.  (Please note that there will be no 6:00pm evening service on Easter Sunday.)

Prayer Meeting (7:30pm, Wednesday 4th April)
We will gather to pray this Wednesday evening, with a meal being served from 7:30pm and prayer from 8:00pm.  If you consider yourself a member of the church, please aim to make this a priority.

A chance to discuss our future! (Wednesday, 18th April, 7:30pm)
All members of St John’s are invited to come along to this special meeting for an opportunity to discuss and share ideas about our future.  As usual, the evening will start with a meal at 7:30pm.

Easter Holiday Club 2018 (9:30am to 12:30pm, Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th April 2018) – sign up here now!
Our Easter Holiday Bible Club is for all primary school children and will run in the mornings.

This year we will be using the Mega Makers! material from Scripture Union, which is based on Matthew’s Gospel.  It explores the theme of inventions, and that the more we discover about God, the vaster his love for us may seem.  Please contact Kerry if you are able to help in any way or have any questions about the club.

Church Training Day (9:30am to 12:30pm, Saturday, 28th April)
This will be an event that is especially relevant to anyone in a position of leadership or authority within the church, including small group leaders, youth & children’s work leaders and helpers and others.

Can you sing or play a musical instrument?
If so, we would love to hear from you as we’re looking for more people to help play at both the morning and evening services!  Please contact the Office if you are interested or would like to know more.

Save the Date – Colin Buchanan concert (Friday, 20th April, 5:15pm, St James Muswell Hill)
The writer of ‘Super Saviour’ and ‘Jesus Saves’ is touring the UK and will be performing at St James, Muswell Hill on Friday 20th April.  An event not to be missed!  Please contact St James Muswell Hill to book tickets.

Save the Date – Weekend Away 2018 (5-7th October 2018)
Please put these dates in your diaries now to avoid clashes – we would love to see everyone there!  This year we are returning to Denham Grove and Andrew Latimer will be speaking to us from Ecclesiastes.  More information, including application forms, will be available after Easter.

Sign up for the St John’s podcast here
So you can listen to all our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason.

Chalk Farm Foodbank
We have a box at the back of church for anyone who wants to contribute.  Urgent needs this week are: tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, tinned meat e.g. Fray Bentos pies, chicken in sauce, corned beef, ham, and long life (UHT) milk.  Please ensure that everything is in date otherwise we can’t donate it.
