Summer BBQs (6:00pm on Sundays until 2nd September) In our Summer sermon series, we will be looking at some of the Psalms and, as in previous years, we will be having BBQs outside before the evening service. Please do come along for food and fellowship – these would also be great services to invite friends to come along to!
Summer Central (8:00pm, Wednesdays until 29th August) We will meet at 8:00pm on Wednesdays for a short bible study and time of prayer. No meal beforehand but there will be plenty of tea, coffee & cake! Do feel free to join us – especially if your usual small group isn’t meeting over the Summer.
Pot luck lunch (12:30pm onwards, Sunday 5th August) Do join us after the morning service on Sunday 5th August (note the correct date!) for a church pot luck lunch – everyone welcome. Bring a favourite dish and taste other people’s favourites too! This will also be Alex Berry’s, Janet Arnold’s, and Michelle Chan’s last Sunday with us before they head off to Croydon, Zimbabwe, and Shanghai respectively so please pray for them and take the opportunity to say goodbye!
Picnic & Pool Party (12:30-6:00pm, Sunday 12th August) John & Gillian Lawson are once again very kindly opening up their home on Sunday 12th August at 7, Oakhill Way, NW3 7LR after the morning service for a picnic and pool party for the whole church. All are invited – it’s an ideal opportunity to get to know each other better! Please bring your own picnic (BBQ will be lit) plus swimming gear – perfect weather guaranteed!
Weekend Away 2018 (5-7th October 2018) The online booking form is available here so please do sign up as soon as possible and, ideally, before you go away for the Summer Holidays! Leaflets are also available at the back church.

One of our key values is “every member ministry” where we are all responsible for serving one another and building one another up. Everyone has different gifts and skills that they can use and develop for the good of the whole church. If you’ve not yet got involved, this is a great opportunity to see the kinds of areas where you might have something to offer. If you’re already serving, you may want to review the ways that you serve or consider new areas to develop your gifts. Do talk to Tom Watts if you have any questions.
Sign up for the St John’s podcast here So you can listen to all our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason.
Chalk Farm Foodbank We have a box at the back of church for anyone who wants to contribute. Urgent needs this week are: tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, tinned meat e.g. Fray Bentos pies, chicken in sauce, corned beef, ham, long life (UHT) milk, deodorant, toothpaste, coffee, and rice. Please ensure that everything is in date otherwise we can’t donate it.
