Weekend Away 2018 (5-7th October 2018) The Weekend Away is now only two weeks away! If you haven’t yet signed up and want to come along – even for just the day on either Saturday or Sunday – then please email Kerryasap!
Q & A session on Ephesians (7:30pm, Sunday 30th September) Tom will be holding a Q&A after the evening service on Sunday, 30th September, on issues arising so far from this term’s sermon series. All are welcome to attend and all questions – no matter how hard – will be taken!
London Women’s Convention 2018 (9:30am to 2:30pm, Saturday 13th October) To a damaged and decaying world Christ offers the resurrection hope of new birth and an inheritance that will never fade, spoil or die. Clare Heath-Whyte will be speaking on the first chapter of 1 Peter and helping us discover more about this glorious hope and how we can and should live in the light of it.
A group of us from St John’s will be going to this year’s Convention – we have booked tickets for the ‘Daylight’ session at a cost of £25 per ticket and there are still a few left if you would like to join us. Please email or speak to Kerry if you are interested in coming along.
Christianity Explored (7:30-9:00pm, Wednesdays 17th & 31st October, 14th & 28th November, 12th & 19th December) We will be running the Christianity Explored course on Wednesdays later this term – we will meet at 7:30pm downstairs in the undercroft for a meal alongside Wednesday Central before starting at 8:00pm. A great opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed environment – the course is suitable for everyone, whether you’re a new Christian, don’t know what you believe, or have been coming to church for years and just want a ‘refresher’ on what Christian’s believe! Please email or speak to Tom if you’re interested in coming along.
Teaching help needed with English Language Classes (10:00-11:30am, Tuesdays from 18th September) We’re looking for someone to join the ESL team to help with teaching English to internationals on Tuesday mornings in term time. This would involve sitting alongside group members learning English and helping them with their work. Please speak to Gussie Staton or email [email protected] for more information.
Sign up for the St John’s podcast here So you can listen to all our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason.
