A chance to discuss our future! (7:30pm, Wednesday, 18th April) All members of St John’s are invited to come along to this special meeting for an opportunity to discuss and share ideas about our future. We would like every family to be represented so we have input from across the services and from all the groups from here at St John’s. As usual, the evening will start with a meal at 7:30pm. Before you come, why not think about what you love about St John’s, what you think we could do better etc.
Please note that there will be a separate meeting, incl a creche, from 9:30-11:00am on Monday, 23rd April specifically for women who might find it difficult to attend in the evening.
Church Training Day (9:30am to 12:30pm, Saturday, 28th April)
All are welcome to come along but this will be an event that is especially relevant to anyone in a position of leadership or authority within the church, including small group leaders, youth & children’s work leaders and helpers, and others.
Andy Palmer’s Commissioning Service (from 7:00pm, Tuesday 24th April) Andy’s Commissioning Service will take place at Chestnut Grove School, Balham SW12 8JZ (1 minute walk from Balham tube, on the Northern line). It will start with canapés and drinks from 7pm, and afterwards – it won’t be a long service and will end about 8:30pm. It would be great if we could show our support by attending!
This year’s Convention will be looking at how to live for God and his gospel and finding out what it means to truly be ‘Men who Make a Difference’. Please email the Office if you want to go along as part of a group from St John’s – we’re planning on going to the afternoon session followed by a meal out. Tickets will go fast so please let us know by April 22nd if you want to go! Please speak to John Fernihough if you want to know more about the Convention.
GC3 Conference at St James, Muswell Hill, N10 3DB (17th-19th May, 7:45pm to 9:30pm) GC3 is a new grassroots initiative to encourage and inspire individual Christians and churches to work together in reaching our part of London for Christ. The first events are on May 17-19 2018.
Each evening we’ll praise, pray, hear what God is doing, and look for inspiration from the book of Acts, and especially the church in Antioch. There’s a great line up of speakers, and a bookstall from 10ofthose.com. It’s designed to work around the demands of a busy working day, and to give us all new spiritual vision and energy.
Easter Holiday Club 2018 A HUUUUGE thank you to everyone who helped in so many ways at this year’s holiday club – it was very much appreciated! We can all now breathe a sigh of relief before thinking about next year…
