Picnic & Pool Party (12:30-6:00pm, Sunday 12th August) John & Gillian Lawson are once again very kindly opening up their home at 7, Oakhill Way, NW3 7LR this Sunday after the morning service for a picnic and pool party for the whole church. All are invited – it’s an ideal opportunity to get to know each other better! Please bring your own picnic (BBQ will be lit) plus swimming gear – perfect weather guaranteed!
Help needed on day-to-day finance issues (wef September 2018) We are very grateful to Roger Staton for all his work with finances in the office for the last seven years or so. As he stands down in September, we are looking for someone who can help with financial bookkeeping: logging transactions, reconciling them with bank statements, and paying invoices.
This could be done by more than one person, so any help that can be offered in this area would be appreciated. It would be an advantage to be able to come into the office for a few hours or up to a day or two per week, but this work could also be done at home. Full training will be provided but being comfortable working with numbers would be helpful! Please email the Office for more information.
Help needed with English Language Classes (10:00-11:30am, Tuesdays from 18th September) We’re looking for more people to join our team to help welcome, serve tea and coffee etc on Tuesday mornings in term time. Please speak to Gussie Staton or email [email protected] for more information.
Summer Central (8:00pm, Wednesdays 15th, 22nd, & 29th August) We will meet at 8:00pm for a short bible study and time of prayer. No meal beforehand but there will be plenty of tea, coffee & cake!
Summer BBQs (6:00pm on Sundays until 2nd September) We are looking at some of the Psalms over the Summer and, as in previous years, we are having BBQs outside before the evening service. Please do come along for food and fellowship – these would also be great services to invite friends to come along to!
Weekend Away 2018 (5-7th October 2018) The online booking form is available here so please do sign up as soon as possible and, ideally, before you go away for the Summer Holidays! Leaflets are also available at the back church.
Sign up for the St John’s podcast here So you can listen to all our previous talks and catch up on any that you’ve missed if you’ve been away or unable to come to church for any reason.
Chalk Farm Foodbank We have a box at the back of church for anyone who wants to contribute. Urgent needs this week are: tinned tomatoes, tinned fruit, tinned meat e.g. Fray Bentos pies, chicken in sauce, corned beef, ham, long life (UHT) milk, deodorant, toothpaste, coffee, and rice. Please ensure that everything is in date otherwise we can’t donate it.
